2021 Legislative Forum

Over the years the Greater Southeastern Massachusetts Labor Council, AFL-CIO has partnered with the Labor Education Center at UMass Dartmouth to sponsor a Legislative Breakfast.  We think the idea of putting local leaders and rank and file members together with our legislators for a discussion about our issues and priorities is critical.  Frank and candid in our own backyard...that’s what we’re driving at!

We have scheduled our Legislative Forum for Saturday, May 8th via zoom due to the pandemic starting promptly at 10am.

You will be joining an esteemed group of speakers including US Representatives Keating and Auchincloss, Clayola Brown the President of the A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI) who was recently named the AFL-CIO Civil Rights Director and Steven Tolman, President of the Massachusetts  AFL-CIO.

Our priorities both locally and nationally include WORKER EMPOWERMENT, WORKER SAFETY AND EQUITY IN THE PANDEMIC, GOOD JOBS AND PUBLIC INVESTMENT, RACIAL JUSTICE AND DEMOCRACY, and ECONOMIC SECURITY. Your financial support will help us to lead in the upcoming local elections, the forum is free to attend but we are seeking sponsorships from organizations at the following levels:

Main event sponsor $5000

Gold $1000

Silver $500

Bronze $200
